On 21st January, 1995 M/s Kazakhstan Airline's aircraft TU-154 B-2 Registration No. UN-85455 Flight No.KZA 1940 was scheduled to operate as chartered flight from Karachi to Almaty with 105 Passengers and 12 Crew members on board. The aircraft taxied out at 1237 Hrs. (PST) for departure from runway 07L. During take-off roll when the captain attempted to lift the nose wheel at appropriate speed (270 - 280 KPH) the aircraft nose did not come up. At 290 - 300 KPH the captain decided to abort the take-off. The aircraft overshot the runway and came to rest at approximately 1500 feet from threshold of RW 25 R. The rescue and fire fighting immediately reached the site at 1245 Hrs. All the passengers and crew evacuated the aircraft safely. The nose landing gear broke in the over-run area and aircraft nose contacted the ground and dragged on the ground for about 300 feet. The forward fuselage under surlace was substantially damaged. Two approach lights on RW 25 R were also damaged.
