During a non-precision FMC approach for RW 18L at Lahore, the aircrew sighted the airfield slightly towards the left when they were about 1.33 KM from the runway beginning. The Captain, who was Pilot not flying (PNF) till then, took over the controls and attempted to line up with the runway and land. During the process, the aircraft overshot laterally towards the left and its right wing tip scraped the runway surface, its No 2 Engine cowling broke No 8- runway edge light and its left wheel went off the prepared surface to the left. The Captain manoeuvred the aircraft back on to the runway and completed the landing sequence without any further incident.
