On September 29, 1983, an operational pilot, proceeded to Dharki to conduct locust spray operations. After loading the aircraft with pesticide, he began the takeoff roll in a Cessna A.G. Carryall, accompanied by another pilot, who was to act as a guide for the spray area. During the takeoff roll, the aircraft reached 60 mph but failed to "unstick" or become airborne. Recognizing the impending danger as the end of the runway approached, the pilot ordered the pesticide to be dumped and applied heavy backward pressure on the control column. While the aircraft briefly became airborne, it could not maintain a climb or level attitude due to its low airspeed. The pilot subsequently executed a forced landing in a small field approximately 20 degrees to the left of the runway. The aircraft settled in the field with no damage sustained, and there were no injuries or fatalities reported.
