On April 28, 1984, during passenger boarding for flight PK-301, a Ramp Supervisor unauthorizedly operated a Suzuki Van near the economy class steps. The supervisor, who lacked both an apron and a civil driving license, reversed the vehicle to pick up the flight's Trim Supervisor and struck the No. 1 engine of the Boeing 747 aircraft (AP-BAT). The collision caused the Suzuki Van to be badly damaged and resulted in a bent drain mast and a slightly dented and scratched right-hand fan cowling on the aircraft. Following a technical inspection by the Duty Aircraft Engineer, the cowling was cleaned and polished, and the aircraft was released to return to base after being found in airworthy condition.
