Captain Naimat ullah Khan P-45617 and First Officer Ikram ullah P-51749 of PIA were scheduled to operate PK 684 on 5th July, 1994 from Islamabad- Peshawar-DJ.Khan-Zhob-Multan Sector on F-27 aircraft Registration Marks AP-ALN. Islamabad - Peshawar sector flown by First Officer was normal and uneventful. Captain Niamat ullah Khan was the pilot flying on Peshawar - D.I. Khan Sector. AT 1013 hrs (L.T) PK 684 was given descent and landing clearance by the D.I. Khan Tower. At 1023 hrs the pilot called Long Final in landing Configuration and tower gave clearance for landing at Runway 12 with caution that Runway over run and F.W.S unserviceable due to rain on previous days. The pilot acknowledged the instructions passed by the ATCO and continued the approach for landing at RW 12. During the final approach Captain experienced some malfunction on No.1 Engine and initiated a go-around and asked for Flaps UP and Gears UP. After crossing the runway 12 threshold the aircraft veered off to the left and started losing height. As the aircraft height could not be maintained the Capain decided to make a crash landing in the fields. The aircraft hit two trees and Captain made a crash landing at about 1026 hrs. approximately 7000 feet North of D.I. Khan runway.
