During a cargo flight from Pasni on 8 October 1982, the pilot of Cessna 185F aircraft AP-BBC loaded prawn cargo without verifying its actual weight and carried one passenger. During the take-off roll from Runway 24, the aircraft developed directional instability and swerved right, followed by an over-correction leading to a left swing. The pilot aborted the take-off after hearing a cracking sound from the right landing gear. Despite braking attempts, the aircraft departed the runway and came to rest about 100 feet off the runway edge after the right landing gear collapsed. Both occupants evacuated safely and no fire occurred.
