On 22ⁿᵈ April 2012, M/s Shaheen Air International (SAi), Boeing 737-400 aircraft, Reg # AP-BJN, Flight NL-122 (Sector Islamabad - Karachi) was a scheduled passenger flight. After landing on JIAP Karachi Runway 25L, ATC Tower Controller observed slight smoke from the left wheel area of the aircraft. The cockpit crew considered it to be a tyre failure. The aircraft was stopped and kept on the main runway surface by the cockpit crew. The fire vehicles were promptly positioned by ATC Tower Controller to avert any untoward situation. The onboard passengers were disembarked normally through the steps. Subsequently, the left main landing gear was observed collapsed towards upward and inward side. The No 1 (left) engine of the mishap aircraft was observed resting on ground with dragging marks on the runway surface. The upper surface of left wing was also observed ruptured with fuel dripping from the left wing area.
