M/s Shaheen Air International (SAI) Flight NL-148, B737-400 aircraft, Reg # AP-BJN was operating a routine revenue flight from Karachi to Lahore on 30ᵗʰ December, 2014. The flight remained uneventful, however, before landing at Lahore at about 100 ft AGL the cockpit crew experienced a bird strike in the nose wheel well area. After landing on Runway 36R, the aircraft drifted towards right side. It could not be controlled by inputs of cockpit crew and thus departed the runway. The left main landing gear collapsed shortly after the aircraft departed the runway. The aircraft left wing sustained substantial damage around landing gear attachment points due to landing gear collapse. After left gear collapse, the left engine came in contact with ground and engine cowling was also damaged. Post occurrence inspection revealed blood stains marks and bird feathers in the nose Wheel well area. The nose wheel steering system cable was also found broken as a result of the bird impact.
