On January 18, 1984, an Air France Boeing 747 (Registration N 1252E) departed Karachi for Dahran with 66 passengers and additional cargo. While climbing through Flight Level 175, the aircraft suffered a sudden pressurisation failure, prompting the pilot to request an emergency descent and return to Karachi. The aircraft landed safely at 0225 hours and taxied to its parking bay under its own power. A subsequent ground inspection revealed a hole in the fuselage aft of the right landing gear, opposite the aft cargo hold. No injuries or fires occurred during the incident.
