On October 8, 1985, a Cessna F337H (Registration No. AP-BBT) belonging to Falcon Aviation Services Limited, commanded by Captain Anwaar Ellahi Chishty with Safety Pilot Tariq Mehmood, departed Multan at 1655 local time on a chartered flight to Islamabad. Due to deteriorating severe weather conditions en route, the pilot decided to divert to Lahore but subsequently became lost, losing track of his ground position and circling the Raiwind Railway Station at a low altitude of 1,000 feet AGL. Lahore Air Traffic Control was initially unable to provide radar vectors or tracking assistance due to the severe weather, the unserviceability of their VHF Direction Finder (VDF), and the aircraft's inability to climb safely. The situation was successfully resolved after the Station Master at Raiwind spotted the low-flying aircraft and alerted railway authorities, who relayed the exact ground location to Lahore Airport management; this critical information enabled air traffic control to establish tracking and safely vector the aircraft to a landing at Lahore Airport at 1911 local time with no injuries to any occupants.
